Julien Chupin

INTERNATIONAL CONSULTANT ON BIODIVERSITY & SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Julien supports companies and public institutions making compromises between biodiversity conservation and socio-economic development. For the past 16 years he has worked as a practitioner and adviser with and for businesses, governments, international organisations, NGOs and academia across Europe and Africa.

His clients appreciate his systemic approach combined with communication skills to facilitate transformation. He seeks to understand how actors depend from others and biodiversity to craft alternative pathways and foster collective action. His areas of expertise are : sustainable sourcing, valorisation of biodiversity and sustainable investment. To remove risks on the sourcing of natural resources, he intervene from the ground up to integrate the dependance on biodiversity and increase impact on local producers. He also works with governments and businesses to detect innovative scientific results that can be matured in R&D and transfered to the market in industries such as cosmetics, food, biotechnology and pharmaceutics. He also master finance and alternative business models.

He is happy when trekking in the French Pyrenees, dancing salsa or growing his spiritual awareness.
