How We Are Using It
We have used Agriforest to open up discussions about forest managment with local and indigenous communities. We have used the game both with local and indigenous communities as well as with high-level and institutional decision-makers.
- In 2024, we have used the Agriforest in combination with MineSet to support the forest policy development process in the DRC (see Story).
- Between 2020-2022, we have adapted the Agriforest game to integrate human-wildlife conflicts to facilitate conversations about cohabitation with chimpanzees in Guinea. The adapted version was called COHAB.
- In 2022, the COHAB game was then used to identify concrete conservation measures that communities would be willing to invest in, and was used to define alternative economic activities to develop a new approach to biodiversity and ecological impact offsetting in Guinea (Story).
- In 2025, we used the COHAB game to spark dialogue on ecological impact offsetting and compensation with mining companies and local communities as well as with institutional partners and ministry representatives.
